After the success of our fully booked summer programme and the positive feedback from those who attended, our substance misuse training courses will once again be available for you to access at the latter end of this year. We will be running the courses from September through to December and as well as all the regular courses we offer throughout the year, we will be bringing you two new courses in the shape of ‘Blood Borne Viruses: Harm Reduction and Prevention and Over the Counter Medications.
Our focus for the training is to ensure that drugs & alcohol become ‘everybody’s business’. By investing in prevention we aim to reduce the harms often associated with substance misuse and promote healthy choices amongst families and communities. We know that as people working and volunteering in Blackburn and Darwen, you are already supporting many people with these issues. In order to develop your practice we are excited to be able to offer a range of learning opportunities that will aim to build the knowledge, skills and confidence in relation to drugs and alcohol.
The training courses listed in this programme are free to access for those working, living and volunteering within the Blackburn and Darwen footprint.
By attending the sessions you will be better equipped to support, advice and signpost anyone who experience unwanted outcomes from drugs and alcohol use. Check out our course booklet here and apply today:- Training Prospectus
