Inspire have an exciting opportunity to join our Recovery Coordinator team in a volunteer role. You will be working in collaboration with Recovery Coordinators to support the service user from point of entry through their recovery journey including:
- Screening and assessment
- Risk and recovery planning
- Harm reduction advice
- Health promotion
- Promoting carer and service user involvement
- Working with service user to support social (re)integration, resilience, peer support and self-determination
- Safeguarding children, adults, and families
- Multi-agency working and signposting / referrals
Throughout the service user journey you will support the delivery of pharmacological, psychosocial, and recovery support interventions to support recovery.
Meet & Greet
Inspire are looking for friendly and approachable meet & greet volunteers to support service users attending for appointments and groups.
You will need a smile and a positive outlook, whilst you are welcoming service users into Inspire and engaging with them whilst waiting for their appointments. You will be provided with the knowledge and training to discuss recovery opportunities, community activities and other local initiatives which the service user could become involved in, empowering service users to take positive steps for their wellbeing.

Are you organised and a bit of a perfectionist, with a keen eye for detail? Inspire have a vacancy for an administration volunteer to support with general admin, telephone calls and other incoming communications, as well as office duties and supporting recovery coordinators.
On-the-job training will be provided – all you need is an organised approach and a willingness to learn.

As a volunteer within the needle exchange programme you will obtain experience within the following areas:
You will provide and document needle and syringe exchange transactions, whilst engaging with injecting drug users considering the benefits of HIV and Hepatitis testing.
You will be asked to maintain a knowledge of best practice in relation to the delivery of Needle Exchange Services and Support with outreach services within the local area providing harm reduction, needle exchange service and contraceptive sexual health awareness, accordingly due to unsociable hour’s, flexibility will be paramount.
Inspire have an exciting opportunity for someone to support with our digital engagement across Blackburn with Darwen.
Using your innovative approach and curious mind-set to scope and discover new technologies and digital methods, along with supporting the team to ‘go digital’, you’ll need to have great IT skills and be technologically-minded. You’ll support on training the team on new digital processes and raising awareness of Inspire across Blackburn with Darwen, via social media and the website.
